Shipping Out of Boston
Hello loyal blog readers, I currently write this blog live from New Jersey, sadly not Boston. I have moved home and relaxing until I start my job in June at the Sheraton.

So, just a recap on my past couple of weeks.

Senior Week came and went.

Went to Foxwoods, won tons of money

Went on the Harbor Cruise, drank my final four loko and had a great time with my fellow seniors.

Blake came back to town and we raged as per usual.
(where is this pic from)
Went to TITs for my final Thursday

…kind of upset about that, as I have had such great times at Tavern, and will lose my mayorship at some point since I am no longer in Boston. I hope to go back to Tavern sooner rather than later, as it always calls for a great time.

Went bowling the next day with some beers. Haven’t been bowling in a real long time, so was a relaxing afternoon. (Or was it the day before? No idea who cares)

Parents came in to town for my graduation, and went to Mama Maria for dinner. As per usual, Mama Maria did not disappoint with the best Italian food since side of the Atlantic. A must try for anyone in Boston…especially the Osso Bucco and the scallops.

The next day I graduated from SHA.

I was the senior speaker and it was quite an honor, I think it was a big hit, and glad I could be the voice of the students within the school that has meant so much to me over the past four years. SHA is so different than the rest of BU that only SHA kids would understand, we all enjoy each other and are close knit community.

That evening, after a lunch at MIXX had dinner/reception/party at Nicks place with some SHA kids. Nick of course made an amazing dinner including but not limited to fried chicken, sliders, corn salad, bread straight from Paris, and gin & tonics.

Quite delicious.

Sunday was the big university graduation. My girl Katie Couric really killed it on stage and was a phenomenal speaker. Glad we were able to get her, instead of some boring old dude from Washington DC. Had lunch at TITs of course, and then packed up my room.
I moved out the next day, and that’s all she wrote. Now I am in Jersey moving on to the next step in my life. I have had the most amazing and exciting time in college from LCA to Claflin to SHA to even president’s host, there hasn’t been a time when I wasn’t smiling. I really don’t know who reads this but I want to thank everyone for an amazing four years, which I know I would not be able to get at any other school. It wasn’t just SHA, it was BU. BU has been a home to me, that I have absolutely loved, and it is hard for me to say goodbye to, but as I keep telling my friends…

There are no goodbyes, just see you laters.

Go Terriers!

Life in a Nutshell
Alrite…

Well I have totally blew the load on this blog, but I really want to try to keep it up as I move into the real world since it will be a great way to keep people up on my life…since I am sooooo interesting.

So my last post was Spring Break..like 2 months ago. Oh well.
Since then I have finished all of my requirements and student involvements:
Off Campus Council

IFC

Presidents Host

Lambda Chi Alpha, will get to later

NSMH/ Diner’s Club

It is bittersweet to be done with all of my involvements on campus, that I have put so much time into over the past four years. But the time to move on has to happen, and I have hit that point. At least the millions of emails will be done? Will be nice in September not having to deal with anthing.

Did my last philanthropy of the year with LCA and we had a laser tag tournamanet. Very impressed with how it turned out and its going to be sick in the coming years.

Speaking of LCA also had my last formal ever. Blake came in and we spent the night with our lovely dates Steph and Erin. We started the night at Sorrelina and the food was amazing, I had Kobe Beef Meatballs and Tuna Tartar, cant get better than that. The formal was on a boat that looked like it was straight out of Huck Finn, but was a lot of fun. Going to miss these next year.

Senior Sendoff at LCA also came and went which is pretty surreal. I have been in LCA since like two weeks into college, but I am officially an Alumni. In all honesty, I am a lot closer with the guys older than me, and I was quite surprised that during my roast, many of the odler guys came to see me get sent off. That was really awesome, and meant a lot to me. I am really going to miss this fraternity, but I also know that its not going anywhere, and the connections and friendships I have made over the years will not be broken. As I always say (and every fraternity) it is not foru years, it is for life #TFM Alumni Association NYC here I come

Alyssa and Steve came to visit me which was great. It is rare that my friends from Springfield come to visit me, but everytime they do, its exciting times. We went to harpoon and did some other touristy things (really rainy weekend)

Relay for Life occurred, stayed up night, fought some cancer, day in the life.

Went to the Yankee game at Fenway..love going to any sort of baseball game, but everytime I go the Yankees lose it really sucks. At the time, the Red Sox were just 2-7 so they had nothing to talk shit about. But these Sox fans really gave it to me, by yelling shit in my ear, spilling beer on me, yelling that Yankees fans should push the broken T…ahh Boston fans. Enjoy October at home.

Had Marathon Monday which was a lot of fun. Spent it with the usuals, and then headed into Brookline into our dear friend Jordan’s apartment. Continued to rage as expected. When we got to Beacon Street everyone and their mother was out in their stupid bright colored shirts.

Got hungry so I called Steph, and her and I went to UBurger…though on the way I saw Dean Muller and proceeded to have a lengthy conversation about who knows what…surprised he still likes me. Maybe I shouldn’t be talking to anyone that controls my fate if I Graduate college or not when having a couple of drinks.

U burger was obviously delicious and well worth the trip despite the 100 people that were in there, and our little detour.

Been to harpoon a couple more times, which is always a great blast. I think I have been there 8 times this year..I highly recommend it for anyone that is into beer, and at a very cheap price.

Classes are finally over and I only have one final, in Private Club management. With that in mind I am not studying. I have been trying to do things in Boston before it is to late. Like yesterday we trekked up to Wonderland and went to the original kelly’s at Revere Beach. Its nice to get out sometimes, and many trips to come in the next 14 days, mostly based around food obviously.

Graduation is really soon, and I have been chosen to be the Student Speaker for SHA which I am really honored to receive, what I am going to speak about will be the next step. I guess I have next week to figure it out. If anyone has any ideas let me know…I hope that my speech is one to remember. Suck it Couric.

So this wasn’t a really good post, but its just a catch up, I want to blog my senior week and days til graduation, so hopefully I stay on it.

**note: turn on Toes by Zac Brown Band as background music while reading this blog post.
so I just recently returned back from our short spring break trip to Miami (which, my friends and I affectionately called #SHmiami). the hotels were GORGEOUS (Delano and Shore Club) and we…
Spring Break!
Well Spring Break is almost over, but its been a great one, probably the best one I have had in my college career, good to save the best for last.
Vacation started last Friday when Jon and Ben from the great land of Springfield, NJ came to visit me in Boston, finally.

I had this idea that the weekend was going to be fun, but it ended up being more than that…so I guess super fun is a way to put it? On friday when they arrived I showed them the BU Campus, we stopped off at clearflour for a snack, and finally headed over to Sunset Grill in Allston. All Ben has talked about since I got into BU is Sunset, so we had to go there. We had a great dinner, with a special guest diner, Gina. We had some delicious beers and Nachos, since the rest of their food is good but not great.

we went over to TITS later to watch some basketball, and if my memory serves me correct I think thats all we did.
The next morning, my personal Chef Nick (jk) made us a delicious breakfast that consisted of mickey mouse waffles, eggs with white truffle oil, and fine espressos. Always really good, and the guys loved it even more.

We then treked over to the Seaport to go to Harpoon. We had some time so we went to Jerry Remy’s to watch BU win the American East, had some snack as Flour, and finally some delicious beer at Harpoon, only my third time in 3 weeks. The drinks were flowing, and good times were had.

After the tour, we had lunchish at No Name Seafood. We were pretty out of it, but had some delicious and cheap fish. We also walked through Fanuel Hall and over to the North End for of course, Mike’s Pastries.

we went home to relax for a bit, before heading out to The Pourhouse for the evening. As usual, always a good time, and we even got free hotdogs at the end of the night, such a perk!

Sadly, the boys left for their respective schools and I spent Sunday packing and relaxing. Also watched BU lost to Northeastern, but thats for another day *sigh*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At 6AM the next day myself, and 9 of my fellow SHfriends flew off to Miami. To preface it, it was epic and so much fun. Miami is amazing, and is a must visit for anyone. We flew on Airtran down to Miami, and arrived around 11:30 AM after a stopover in Baltimore.
In Miami we were staying at Delano Hotel, part of the Morgans Hotel Group. Thank you John and Ally it was phenomenal. The Delano is a place for the extremely wealthy and, well we tried our best to fit in.
We immediately hit the bottles and then headed to the pool, where we also got bottle service. We are pretty much rockstars, not gonna lie. We had a great time, and got pretty crunk. We hung out by the pool til about 6 when we all went for much needed naps.
After our nap, we headed over to Burger and Beer Joint. The burgers were quite good, I just wasnt hungry after the days festivities. I wish I did eat though, as they did taste good, the few bites i had.
I then went back to the room, and passed out.
Woke up the next day bright eyed and bushy tailed ready to take on Miami. We of course went to the pool after a sub-par breakfast at Jerry’s (no thanks to the front desk for that reco) by the pool we took it easy, had some mojitos, chips & guac, and enjoyed the Miami sun.
went back up to the room to get changed for dinner, and headed to Joe’s Stone Crab. This is a real Miami Establishment. It is pretty much the place to go. Had a delicious dinner of Stone Crabs, creamed spinach, hash browns, coleslaw, and key lime pie. During dinner had a nice toast to our grandmothers and we had a good old time.
That night we had our rage pants on, so we started out the fun with a stop at Wet Willies. This place is famous for their alcoholic slushies, and boy were tehy right. The drinks were quite strong, and also kinda gross at the same time. The cliental inside wasnt that great either but I digress. I had a banana rum slushie mixed with one called, Call-A-Cab. The Call a Cab is made with grain alcohol, 151, and i believe some other rum. It was real intense, and really hits you after a while..jpg)
We went back to Delano where its the place to be on a Tuesday night. we got changed and headed to the Florida Room. We got immediate access since we were staying at the hotel, and the place was really sick. it was co-crated with lenny kravitz which was cool, and the room was really nice with its ever changing lights. The DJ was one of the best I have ever heard Every girl there was a straightup Smokeshows and all with their sugar daddys that were rich old and Italian.
I just watched. But I still had a great time, and ended up waking up in a cabana around 4 or so. Up to the room I went from there.
Alrite, so the final full day we went to the pool again and also explored Miami a little bit. I of course had to stop at Shake Shack which was sooooooooo good as usual.
Did some more pooling, lounging, catchphrasing, and then went off to dinner. Dinner was at an argentinian steakhouse which was quite good, but not great. Something must have happen after dinner, where we were all so tired and I did not make it out again haha, but the days were always fun filled.
Woke up the next day and went back to Boston. Had a long lay over at BWI so had some beers to celebrate St. pattys day and finally made it back to Boston!
Back in Boston, I went against my will and decided to celebrate St. Patricks day in one of the best cities to do it. I dropped my stuff off, and headed over to Sam’s to take part in the celebration. Jenny straight from Simsbury was in attendance as well, which well, just made the night that much better ;)
The three of us went to lansdowne pub, which luckily had no cover. it was a great idea as it was really fun. Live band, festive mood, shots a flowing. Was a real epic evening, which went the way as planned haha. (Jenny, call me)
We bought some inbound, but I sadly did not have any of it, and went to sleep.
The next day was pretty chill. Walked around Allston and watched some Basketball at Brighton Beer Garden with Sam and recapped on life. The place is pretty cool, but a bit out of the way from the BU bubble. Afterwards, I watched BU play a hard game, but ended up losing to kansas in the first round of the NCAA tourny. It was fun to watch at White Horse with some alums. I took it easy last night and saw Paul at Regal. The movie was very funny, and very nerdy…perfect.
Well i think this post is long enough, of course some details are left out, will have to ask me in person.
TUMBLR YOU SUCK
I just made the most epic post that took me like 2 hours and it did not go through.
DAMMIT
BURGERRRRRRRRRR
I know I know I have been a slacker with posting on the blog, but I will try to make a vow to keep at it.
I like to use it as a way to reflect on my weeks past, mostly my weekends. Since Presidents day weekend, I took it easy during the week. Thursday night, I made my trip back to Tavern In The Square which I missed for the past two weeks so it was nice to be back and see the rest of BU. SHA was also pretty much camping out there, so saw all of the great people from SHA there as well, and got to kick it.
Friday, woke up, went to Harvard Business School to do a study, and got paid some moneys for it too which is always a plus. I have been going there in my free time and doing studies for money which is great. It’s an hour I would have spent just sitting in my room, so I might as well get paid for it, and help some MBA students/ professors as well.
The rest of the day was a lazy rainy day hung out with Gina and Chels and played board games, made pancakes, and watched TV…perfect day.
Friday night, it finally cleared up and headed downtown to The Liberty Hotel to rage at Alibi. I have never been to Liberty before, but was very impressed with it. It is a stunning hotel with a very vibrant night scene. Glad it is part of Starwood, looking forward to those hot rates…doubtful.
Alibi is a pretty sick place, a really cool bar but just a bit too small. Was very tight and had way too many people inside it. I did like however, that the well vodka was Grey Goose…obviously the right place for a night to rage. Came back to a busy house, but just slept and ignored the world as usual. Was a fun night.
Saturday, was pretty epic…as it was supposed to be. Chris set up a fun day for whoever wanted to join and it was surrounded by beer. DK was in town, and he and I went to Harpoon to pick up tickets for the gang. We had time to kill, so we headed to a Boston favorite, The Barking Crab. Was pretty good, overpriced but a great crab cake. There are better seafood places, but I still think it was pretty good.
We then went to harpoon and had a great tour followed by an even better tasting. Had like 45 minutes to drink as much beer as possible. Was pretty sick, and we all even bought growlers.
Those growlers were later used for a power hour and lots more fun drinking that was had. When I finally had enough I went home, napped and then went back out to TITS and White Horse with Steph and Bri, and got to see Craig which is always a plus. After sliding home I went to sleep.
Sunday, just another lazy Sunday. Went to Tasty Burger for dinner with the Berger Family…good times.
Monday was Burger Battle. Burger Battle may have capped a great four years at BU. It was a phenomenal time with all of the best chefs of Boston in one room, all making my favorite food. Steph and I went early and went to drinks at Woodward which were quite delicious and full of flavor, still no Eastern Standard.
Anyways, back to Burger Bash, the burgers were so good. Shout out to Lindsay for inviting me, it was sooooo good. I don’t know when I will eat ground beef again, but it won’t be for a long time as I ate so much. My favorite was Sel De La Terre, however my second favorite, The Bristol Lounge came in first (SDLT came in second).
While still being full over 24 hours later, I guess I will sign off. Expect better posts to come.
Your welcome Sam and Gina.
Hi Andreaaa
I actually do not know anyone named Andrea, but heard a bunch of biddies say this when walking on Comm. Ave, and thought it was funny, because it was so dragged out.
I Digress…
It has been a great weekend full of fun as well as relaxation. Love 3 day weekends, even when I dont really care about President’s Day!
Thursday I had my second broomball game…my team lost by another mercy rule, we really suck…but at least we scored one goal! We are going to focus on Softball from now on. I went to bed early that night and went spinning when I woke up. It was such a nice day, I was in shorts and drove around Boston with the sunroof open…thanks Zipcar!
Later that day, I had F.A.R.T (Friday Afternoon Recreational Time) with the bros and went to Sunset.
Throughout the weekend, bros from Drexel were in town, and they were alot of fun, I hope we can get down to Philly before the semester ends.
Anyways….Friday night after dinner at Kelly’s I went to Beehive for drinks and some musical horns. Was a really cool place, I haven’t been in a couple of years and it was great to get back there, especially being 21. I recommend Beehive for anyone looking for a different night out that escapes Allston. A bit expensive, but worth it…
At Beehive, of course scoured the crowd, starting talking to a 32 year old, yeah that was not ok…went home laughing about it WWTD.
Saturday morning woke up, did some bidding at STUV2 which is a real sick dorm at BU that looks over the Charles and is voted the nicest dorm in the country. Went to West Dining Hall afterwards. Had some people over, but I for the most part took it easy that night.
Sunday I went with some friends to Masa for deliciousness that is their Brunch. It was voted one of the best in Boston, and it definitely lived up to it. Shout Out to my buddy, Chef Josh for great food. If you go there, definitely get the empanadas with plantains, they are out of this world. It is also a moderately priced place, so def wont hurt your wallet…
The Off Campus Council was hosting a free brunch at White Horse, but with the line so long, I headed over to TITS for a bloody mary. I learned for probably the thrid time, that I really do not like bloody Mary’s. Oh well.
Sunday Night i planned on staying in, however went out with some people to The Bus Stop pub. After treking via the 66 bus, we found the place to be legit empty! Not wanting to be the only patrons, we moved onto Deep Ellum.
Deep Ellum is an AMAZING beer bar in the heart of Allston/Brighton. The bartenders and waitresses know every little thing about eah beer and drink on the menu, and the place is a must for anyone that likes something better than a shitty bud light. I had a great Sour Ale with cherries as well as a vanilla brandy flip. both were amazing, however I still like the gin flip at Eastern Standard better, and it stands as my favorite drink in Boston still.
Being that Deep Ellum closes at 1 AM, went home to wake up early for the gym once again. For lunch today, I went to my favorite place in America…Towne! Most people know that I over hype places, but I really think Towne lives up to my hype. It is so good, from the first bite. Four of us split: Lobster pizza, Prime Rib with melted brie ‘French Dip’, ‘Shire Crab Cakes, and my new found favorite cheese burger. Until further notice it is my favorite burger. It was so juicy, flavorful, and just plain phenomenal. I could go on about Towne, but I am sure it will come again in another post.
Since lunch, I have just been relaxing. Another week starts tomorrow…
P.S. Going to Miami for Spring Break!!
Welcome Back Kotter
In all honesty I forgot about this blog, until someone brought up my poor english skills and uses my page as a source for humor when she was looking for a good laugh. With that in mind, and seeing some other peoples blogs, I got jealous and decided to start this up again. I am not really sure if it will last, I hope it does, maybe a post here or there but in conclusion…I AM BACK!
so what has my life been since my last post…lets see:
-finished my time in London, was an amazing time, i look forward to going back one day, just not yet..it will be special when I do
-finished my junior year of college, which means HF410 was finished, which as we all know is the biggest pain in SHA
.
-Had a girlfriend, but now….single, and ready to mingle (least creepy way possible) :)
-spent my summer at The Sheraton New York, where I met some of the best people in the industry, and I am actually starting my career there as a Manager In Training through Rooms Operations. Very pumped about this. I love that I have a job already, and that it is at a place in which I know I will learn the most and be surrounded by pure hospitality.
-senior year started, its been a great time…I have been taking it easy with classes and stuff since I have my job, so pretty much just enjoying my final year in boston…it is crazy to think that I am graduating so soon, but thats for another blog post.
-Still in the fraternity, a place I have been since I got to BU and its going to be sad to leave behind, but its time to hand over the reigns to a fine group of charming gents.
With that in mind, this is the restart of my blog, I hope it becomes a must look for all of my followers, and if you dont like it, then well I dont care.
Do I Know you?
So I have been pretty disappointed in myself with this blog…It has not been updated since PRIOR to Oktoberfest. Anyways to my avid readers, if there are any, I apologize. Life has been quite good here across the pond. Since I last wrote, I have been to Munich for Oktoberfest, Athens and Santorini in Greece for Mid Semester Break, and Belgium for a beer tasting and to see Bruges. All in all I am taking living in Europe as much as possible. My next destination is Dublin, and will hopefully get a company rate through my hotel placement, which is based in Ireland.
Speaking of my placement, I have been working for 3 weeks now, and have realized that working in London, is very different than any other place I have worked in the states. They have a different system for everything, and seem to be very static, and not changing with the times. However, the hotel is a lot of fun, and I am learning a lot. And, for some reason, they are really impressed with every little thing I do…honestly, not that impressive of a guy.
This is going to be a short entry, since I have to go. I am going to the Liverpool V Fulham Football match and Halloween is tonight, AND I am going to church tomorrow! However, I am going to make a great effort to update this blog as much as possible again, as I have been a disappointment.
Also, pics will be coming soon, but always check out my facebook for up to date pics..
cheers
Sorry
Hi Guys, Sorry for the lack of updates, kind of disappointed in myself. I will have a full update of my trip to Greece. I did not post about Oktoberfest, but check out my Fraternity brother’s Justin’s blog, as we went together, and he goes into more detail than I probably ever could. His site is http://justininlondon.tumblr.com/… he has great videos and pictures. Also check out my facebook for some amazing pictures from Oktoberfest, from Fish Cam.
Off to my pop culture class!
